Day 22 Painting 11: Santiago, Chile

For the inspiration behind this piece, read yesterday's blog post

I'm not one hundred percent happy with today's artwork on a technical level, yet there is something about the colour and contrast that is speaking to me on an emotional level, so I'm going to resist the urge to fiddle [to correct my mistakes].

The more I gaze at the image, the more it draws me in. Tomorrow I may not be able to keep my urge to "correct" at bay, but for now, I will allow it to exist as it is :)

I know, from experience, that I sometimes express through painting a deeper emotion that I didn't intend; maybe a truth that creative expression won't allow me to suppress.

My years in Chile were both exciting and fearful; I discovered and gained; I also lost.
