Day 29 Inspiration 15: Creative Tamworth

As mentioned yesterday, it's Staffordshire Day this coming Sunday May 1st.  I'm fortunate to live in the "Creative County" (as Staffordshire is known) which celebrates its artists and craftspeople with events and communities across the region.

The Tamworth Assembly Rooms is one of the venues at the heart of Tamworth's art scene. It's a beautiful Victorian theatre opened in 1889.  As well as hosting a great number of civic events through the years, the building also became a base for army recruits in the First World War, had suffragette Miss Pym campaign on its steps for the women's right to vote and had the young Beatles and Rolling Stones grace its stage in the early 1960s.

It's fitting that the Assembly Rooms will be the subject for my final painting in this 30-day challenge.  Check back tomorrow to see the result!
